Terms and conditions of use

Last updated: August 5, 2026 Β· Version 1.0

These terms govern your relationship with ZodBook, the AI book generation service built into ZodHub. They are written to be understood, but they are a complete legal document nonetheless: they explain what the service is, what it does exactly, what it does not do, and what responsibilities you take on when you use it.

You own your books

The manuscript and the rights generated are yours; the AI is a tool, not the author.

Clear credits

You know what each action costs before you do it. No surprise invoices.

No magic promises

The service is described as it is, with its limits and grey areas.

Contents

1. Identification and acceptance

ZodBook ('the service') is a module of ZodHub, developed and operated by ZodHub. By creating an account, signing up to a plan, using the editor, or consuming AI credits, you accept these terms in full.

If you use the service on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have authority to legally bind that entity, and that you have informed the relevant parties of these conditions.

If you do not accept the terms, do not use the service. Acceptance is unconditional: clause-by-clause negotiation is not allowed.

2. What ZodBook is

ZodBook is a writing and publishing assistance tool for books. It helps you structure a manuscript, generate drafts with AI models, keep the book's internal consistency across chapters, design the layout, and export the result in formats ready for print and digital reading.

The service is offered by subscription and is complemented by an AI credit system. Some features (such as the per-chapter audiobook) may not be available on every plan.

ZodBook is a tool, not an editor, not a printer and not a bookstore. The final decision on publishing, distribution and selling is always yours.

3. How the service works

To start using the service, follow these phases:

Book definition: you create the project with title, language, genre, length and maturity level β€” it is the book record that the AI reads before each generation.

Book bible: you define characters, universe, timeline, themes and style β€” the AI uses it as long-term memory to keep consistency.

Manuscript structure: you create the table of contents and the summaries of each chapter β€” the AI generates the text following these instructions almost verbatim.

Generation chapter by chapter: the AI writes the text in chunks, re-reads the previous chapters and keeps consistency with the bible.

WYSIWYG editing: you review, correct and enrich the text in the editor with the layout already applied β€” every change is reflected in real time.

Layout design: you adjust typography, margins, line height, indent and heading styles β€” these are print millimetres, identical in editor, reader and PDF.

Cover design: you choose the mode (front panel or 3-panel wraparound) and the binding type β€” the KDP calculator generates the exact dimensions.

PDF and EPUB export: you launch the export, which renders the manuscript with a headless Chromium and generates a print-ready PDF and a reflowable EPUB.

Audiobook by chapter: the AI synthesises the plain text of each chapter with the configured TTS engine β€” the cache by text+voice+engine avoids duplicating costs.

Audit and traceability: every AI action is logged (prompt, response, credits, date) and the log is exportable for your audit.

Publishing and selling: optional, lets you create a publication in the shop module with price, download control and invoice generation.

4. What ZodBook is NOT

This section is as important as the previous one. ZodBook is not an auto-publishing tool:

A literary quality guarantee: the AI generates coherent and well-written drafts, but it does not replace the work of a professional human editor.

A fact-checking program: the AI can 'hallucinate' and fabricate false data; you are responsible for verifying all data before publishing.

A marketing tool: it does not automatically generate advertising campaigns, custom covers or store positioning.

A substitute for your creative judgment: the AI proposes, but the decisions of story, tone, structure and final quality are yours.

A store distribution service: ZodBook does not sell directly on Amazon Kindle, Apple Books or other platforms; you export and upload.

Any contrary claim you find on download sites, comparison articles or promotional videos from third parties does not describe ZodBook or bind its operator. If you see it being advertised as an auto-publishing or marketing service, distrust it: it is not.

5. Account and registration

To use ZodBook you need a ZodHub account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials, your payment information, and the AI keys you configure on your instance secure.

A single user cannot hold more than one free account simultaneously. Commercial accounts (company, publisher, organisation) require a paid plan and, in some cases, additional verification.

6. Subscriptions and payments

ZodBook is offered by monthly or annual subscription. The price, the included features and the number of AI credits depend on the chosen plan and are shown before you sign up.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current period; no proportional refunds are given for partial periods, except where the law requires it.

The source code is publicly visible for transparency, so anyone can audit how the service operates without needing to trust marketing descriptions. This is not a substitute for reading these terms, but it complements trust.

7. Prohibited uses

Unless you have written authorisation, or to the extent that the law permits, the following uses of ZodBook are prohibited:

Generating content that infringes third-party copyrights or that passes itself off as existing works.

Generating defamatory, harassing, threatening, discriminatory content or content that incites violence.

Generating child sexual abuse material, non-consensual deepfakes, or any content illegal in your jurisdiction.

Creating books massively and automatically for the sole purpose of advertising filler or spam.

Attempting to bypass usage limits, manipulate the credit system, or exploit security holes.

Using the service to train competing AI models without express authorisation.

8. Your content and the AI

For the AI to generate, modify and keep the consistency between chapters, the service sends your prompts and the book text to the AI providers you have configured. You control which providers are used and can review what data is sent at any time.

The system caches by text + engine + voice: re-synthesising the same chapter with the same voice serves the cached version at no cost; changing the voice or the text charges only the delta.

As the author of the manuscript, you retain creative control and editorial responsibility over the generated text. The AI is an assistance tool, not a substitute for your judgment as author.

Prompts: your textual instruction to the model for each action (generation, rewrite, synthesis).

Book text: your complete manuscript, re-read by the model chapter by chapter to maintain consistency.

Bible: characters, universe, timeline, themes and style you define and the AI consults.

Chapter summaries: near-literal instructions that the AI follows when generating each chapter.

Previews: generated fragments that the AI shows you before you confirm the action.

Audit logs: date, model, credits consumed and result of each AI interaction.

9. Intellectual property of the books

The final manuscript β€” including AI-generated text, uploaded images, and the layout design β€” is yours. You can publish, sell, give away, translate and modify it without restriction by ZodHub.

You acknowledge that the AI is trained on third-party data and that some of the generated content may resemble existing works. You are responsible for verifying that your book does not infringe third-party copyrights before publishing it.

This clause does not exclude or limit the rights that applicable law recognises you as author of the manuscript, including the inalienable moral rights in many jurisdictions.

10. AI credits system

Every action that uses an AI model (generation, rewriting, audiobook, translation, partial regeneration) has a cost in credits. The cost depends on the model, the length of the text, and the type of operation, and is ALWAYS shown before you confirm β€” no surprise invoices at the end of the month.

Chapter generation: the most expensive action; variable cost depending on the model and the length of the text.

Surgical rewrite: cheaper than a full generation, because it only affects a portion.

Audiobook synthesis: cost per chapter depending on the estimated audio duration.

Translation: cost per block, proportional to the volume of text.

Image generation: if the book includes generated illustrations, each image deducts credits.

Unused credits expire at the end of the billing cycle. If you change plan, the unused credits from the previous plan are lost, unless the migration is minimal (same level or higher).

The price of additional credits outside the plan is shown on each action before you confirm it. If you have an unlimited plan, credits are figurative and are not deducted, but the audit log still records every interaction.

11. Publishing and selling

If you decide to sell your books through the ZodHub shop module, you accept the specific conditions of that module, which add to these without replacing them.

12. Third-party software (AI providers)

ZodBook integrates with external AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Ollama, and others you add). Each provider has its own terms and use policies; by enabling them, you also accept those terms.

ZodHub is not responsible for the behaviour of third-party AI providers: service outages, price changes, policy changes, or unexpected responses. The AI module logs every interaction so you can audit it.

13. Privacy and data

Personal data handling is described in the privacy policy. In summary: the data we keep is the data needed to operate the service, and your manuscript data is never used to train any AI model without your explicit consent.

14. Termination and refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the account panel. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current period and does not affect access until that date.

If you cancel within 14 days of signing up to an annual plan, and you have not consumed more than 10 % of the included credits, you are entitled to a full refund. After that period, no refunds are given except in the cases provided by law.

15. AI audit

ZodBook logs, for each AI action, what was asked, what was answered, and what it cost. This log is yours and you can export it at any time.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ZodHub will not be liable for:

17. Indemnification

You agree to hold ZodHub harmless from any third-party claim arising from your use of the service, in particular from publishing AI-generated content that infringes third-party rights, that is illegal in your jurisdiction, or that causes harm to another person.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or in the law. You will be notified by email and via an in-panel notice at least 14 days before they enter into force.

If you do not accept the new terms, you can cancel your subscription before the effective date. Continued use of the service after that date is considered acceptance.

19. Changes to the service

ZodHub may add, modify, or remove features of the service at any time. If a change is material and harms your use of the service, you will be notified at least 30 days in advance and, where appropriate, offered a reasonable alternative or cancellation without penalty.

20. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of your country of residence, for consumers, and by the legislation the parties have designated in their contract, in all other cases; for any question about these terms, or to request permissions not explicitly covered, write to us through the ZodHub contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time.
